Gravel And Paved Driveway Chorleywood

Why did the client contact us?

A large detached house in Chorleywood wanted to enhance its exterior with a high-end driveway that balanced style, practicality and durability. They wanted a design that combined the structured look of block paving with the natural charm of gravel, a visually pleasing yet functional space.

After discussing options, we recommended a combination of block paving and gravel. This would provide a striking contrast. The gravel would add texture and character. The homeowners chose a light grey block with a darker border to frame the space, and the gravel area would introduce a softer, more natural feel.

Block paving is a great choice for driveways due to its strength, low maintenance and long life. The addition of a gravel area would add aesthetics and drainage, preventing water build-up and a long-term practical solution.

What work was done?

We started by excavating and preparing the ground to ensure a solid base. A good base is essential to maintaining the integrity of the block paving and the gravel area in the long term.

Once the groundwork was complete, we laid the block paving in the chosen grey tones and outlined the driveway with a darker border for a clean finish. The gravel area was edged with block to keep it contained and blend the two surfaces together. The end result was a spacious, stylish, and practical driveway that matched the grandeur of the property.
