Why did the client contact us?

The homeowners in Harpenden wanted to replace their old driveway with a modern and durable surface. We discussed different driveway options, and the client was drawn to the contemporary look and robustness of block paving.

Charcoal block paving was chosen for its sleek, understated look and versatile base matching the property’s style. The dark, rich tone of the charcoal blocks looked great against the surrounding greenery and brickwork. This allowed for a bespoke design; the client went for a clean pattern to maximise the useable space of the driveway.

One of the big advantages of block paving, especially in a busy residential area like Harpenden, is how easy it is to maintain. What work was carried out?

The Pavecraft team started by excavating the existing driveway, making sure the sub-base was solid and level for the new paving. This involved removing the old surface, levelling the area and compacting the sub-base to create a solid foundation.

We then laid the charcoal block paving in the client’s chosen pattern, making sure everything was aligned and finished to perfection. The result was a great, durable driveway that transformed the entrance of the property and exceeded the client’s expectations.
